RAFTS

Formed in 2005, Rivers and Fisheries Trusts of Scotland (RAFTS) is a leading independent freshwater conservation charity representing Scotland’s national network of rivers and fisheries Trusts and Foundations. RAFTS manages a range of core policy and project-driven objectives, including representing its 25 member Trusts and Foundations.
RAFTS promotes and manages a range of environmental projects in order to help develop and maintain a sustainable, natural environment for Scotland’s native freshwater fish. In addition, RAFTS influences a wide sphere of freshwater and fishery issues, and is routinely consulted by Scottish Government and associated agencies on all matters relating to freshwaters, the fish species they support and the dependent fisheries. Through this, RAFTS also contributes to a range of progressive policies in a number of key environmental areas.
The fishery and river trust network represent a collective resource of professional knowledge and practical expertise, employing a broad spectrum of full time fisheries managers, biologists, project and field staff around Scotland, which are supported by an extended network of volunteers.
