The first seminar in this series will be held on Thursday, 25 February 2021, 4.00 pm via MS Teams Live Events.  The guest speaker will be James Turner (Cavanaugh Professor of Humanities and Professor of History Emeritus at the University of Notre Dame).  His talk is entitled  "Teaching without God: The Retreat of Religion and the Rise of the Humanities in American Liberal Education".

Professor Turner is the author of numerous books including the prize-winning "Philology: The Forgotten Origins of the Modern Humanities" and is an outstanding scholar and an enoromously stimulating thinker.  We look forward to welcoming him to Queen's University Belfast (albeit on-line).

Please note this event will also include a live Q&A session with Professor Turner.
