Field Instrumentation

Acoustic Doppler Velocimeters (ADV) - Queen's University Belfast uses Nortek Vectors and Vectrinos for field and lab scale velocimetry tests. The instruments can be mounted for full flow mapping and flow characterisation.

Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCP) - QUB has several different types of ADCP for measuring the velcoity profile throughout channel depth. The Nortek Aquadopps can be bed or vessel mounted for accurate detailing of the channel profile. Divers can place the devices on the seabed for long term deployments, such as 3 months, or mounted on vessels for short term surveys.
