Infrastructure

A pictorial tour of our labs, studios and computer suites

The School of Natural and Built Environment has a range of state-of-the-art facilities to support our outstanding students and staff conducting leading-edge research and teaching across all of our disciplines.

Some of our research facilities support several disciplines and range from the interactive mapping tools employed by the Centre for GIS and Geomatics to the high precision radiocarbon analyses conducted by 14Chrono.

Stable Isotope Facility

The Stable Isotope Facility (SIF) specialises in routine stable isotope analysis (CHNOS) for the environmental, archaeological and geo-forensic disciplines.

Architecture Studios

Architecture at Queen's boasts state-of-the-art design studios and exhibition spaces. A new workshop provides facilities for laser cutting, model making and 3D printing.

Radiocarbon Dating

Our experienced team have reported at least 30,000 high quality dates for use in both environmental and archaeological studies.
