Professor Nuala C Johnson

Professor Nuala C Johnson MRIA

School of Natural and Built Environment

Professor Johnson’s work focuses on three major themes. First, she develops conceptual and empirical frameworks for understanding the performance of social memory with respect to public monuments, museums and heritage venues. Second she investigates the historical geographies of science and in particular natural history, including botanical gardens, plant-hunting, botanical illustration and exploration. Third, she researches the role of place in the articulation of nationalist identities.
