The award recognises an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership during the academic year.

Dr Alan Hanna is a Senior Lecturer on the BSc Finance and MSc Quantitative Finance programmes at Queen’s Management School, a Faculty Advisor on the Queen's Student Managed Fund, and a Capital Markets Trainer for a number of investment banks and financial institutions.

Additionally, Alan is the Director of Accreditation and Chair of the School Accreditation Committee and was instrumental in leading Queen’s Management School through the process of securing EQUIS, AMBA, and SBC accreditations in 2021.

Thanks to Alan’s outstanding leadership, Queen’s Management School is one of only a handful of business schools globally to achieve two out of three ‘Triple Crown’ accreditations within a six-month period.

Professor Nola Hewitt-Dundas, Pro-Vice Chancellor for the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Faculty, speaking at the online awards, said:

In Queen’s Management School, Alan has led the transformation to becoming a world-leading, accredited business school. Alan’s commitment, vision, professionalism, and collegiality in working with people throughout the school has set an example for everybody. The School now has a fabulous platform to build on moving forward, and Alan has been pivotal in this. A very well-deserved recognition, Alan should enjoy this moment.”

On receiving the award, Dr Alan Hanna commented:

“I’m thrilled to be recognised with this award. It has been such a privilege to lead the accreditation efforts of QMS, work with so many brilliant colleagues across Queen's, and showcase all the wonderful achievements of our staff and students.”
