FinTrU Trading Room

Since 2017, FinTrU has generously sponsored our Trading Room. The FinTrU Trading Room, which replicates New York and London trading environments, provides students with access to 12 Bloomberg terminals, trading simulations and other financial software.

The FinTrU Trading Room is embedded into taught programmes allowing students to relate real world news and market activity to economic and financial theory. The facility is also vital for supporting extra-curricular activities such as the CFA Research Challenge and Queen’s Student Managed Fund.

FinTrU Placement Programme
Integrated Placement

Each year, FinTrU recruits a number of students as part of our programmes with an integrated placement. Our students join FinTrU’s staff at one of its two Belfast city centre offices, located in The Gasworks and Pakenham Street, or in Carlisle House in Derry/Londonderry. While on placement, our students work with FinTrU clients to find solutions to help them meet with their regulations in areas such as; Legal, Risk, Compliance, KYC, Operations and Consultancy. FinTrU’s clients are all Tier 1 Investment Banks based in London, New York, Tokyo, Frankfurt and Paris. Successful completion of the FinTrU Placement Programme presents our graduates with the chance to join the company at Analyst 2 level upon graduation. FinTrU also provides our placement students with the opportunity to complete CISI IOC exams while employed for the company.
