Agri-food is increasingly operating in a global market for production, processing and distribution. Our degrees are specifically designed to focus on areas of particular relevance to the future the global food supply chain.

Undergraduate Food Degrees

Undergraduate degrees are specifically designed to focus on areas of particular relevance to the future and the global food supply chain. The ultimate intention is to give graduates the competitive edge to meet the challenges posed by European enlargement and an increasingly global marketplace.  The undergraduate degrees offered by the School of Biological Sciences focus on contemporary food, animal and human health issues pertaining to agriculture and food industries.

There is considerable interdisciplinary interaction within the Institute, both in teaching and research as well as collaboration with the Institute for Global Food Security.

Postgraduate Studies

The Institute offers a varied programme of research to provide tomorrow’s industry professionals with an in-depth knowledge of current and emerging issues in the field of global food security, plus practical experience of the latest developments in the effort to provide the world’s population with a sustainable, safe and secure food supply.

New International Partnership for Vietnamese Students

New International Partnership for Vietnamese Students

Queen’s University Belfast and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology have developed a new partnership creating a pathway for students to achieve
a BSc in Food Quality, Safety and Nutrition.

Students follow a two-year Foundation Programme in Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and complete their BSc qualification in Queen’s University Belfast.
