A number of PhD positions in a range of chemical science areas are now available within the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, starting in October 2021.

These postgraduate positions, which will allow students to work with leading reasearchers in the areas of optical sensors, ionic liquids, inorganic chemistry, renewable energy, and analytical and materials chemistry are fully funded for a period of three years, with funding covering tuition fees (at the home rate), and a stipend for the successful applicants.

Dr Mark Muldoon, Reader in Inorganic Chemistry and Director of Postgraduates at the School commented:

"These fully-funded postgraduate research studentships are a great opportunity for individuals who are interested in gaining core and sophisticated skills in a range of areas of chemistry, all of which are linked closely to huge global industries. In addition to working in these important areas of research, successful candidates will also develop a number of valuable transferrable skills, equipping them to successfully enter into a career in industry or academia on completion of their projects.

I very much welcome applications for these positions, and would encourage applicants to reach out to the School's Research Office or project supervisors should they have any questions or queries about the available positions."

More information about these positions, includng full eligibility critera, funding, and how to apply, are available on the School's PhD Opportunities web page.
