Clare's current research uses socio-legal methods to examine how the design and application of anti-discrimination legislation and its interaction with consociationalism in divided societies impacts on inequalities at the intersection of gender, ethno-national and ethno-linguistic difference within private sector employment. Northern Ireland and Belgium are compared for this purpose. Clare possesses a B.A. in PPE, an M.A. in Legislative Studies and Practice, and has a range of experience working in both the private and public sectors, including within the Northern Ireland Assembly. Her research interests include consociationalism, identity politics, parliaments and governance, EU law, equality and intersectionality.
