This location is the site of a labour camp during the Khmer Rouge period. There is no memorial at the site, nor any information detailing what took place here. The project team were told by those with connections to the site about how detainees were forced to build the airfield here, quarrying rock from a mountain several miles away, and laying stones to level the site before the laying of large concrete blocks. Thousands died during this work.
