Lauren is a Research Fellow in the School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work, currently based in the Senator George J. Mitchell Institute for Global Peace, Security and Justice. She is currently working on an AHRC-funded project: ‘Voice, Agency and Blame: Victimhood and the Imagined Community in Northern Ireland.’
Lauren's previous research has been interdisciplinary in nature, drawing on the fields of transitional justice, criminology, anthropology, and politics in particular. Her research interests include 'dealing with the past' in Northern Ireland, 'disappearances' and transitional responses to 'disappearing,' the construction of victimhood, victim mobilisation, and themes of voice, silence, and memory.
