Dr Rachel Killean

Rachel is a Lecturer in the School of Law, Deputy Director of the Human Rights Centre and a Fellow in the Senator George J. Mitchell Institute for Global Peace, Security and Justice.

Rachel’s research interests include transitional justice, victimology, procedural justice and sexualised and gender based violence. Her PhD research focused on the role of victims within transitional justice processes, with a particular emphasis on the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia.

Alongside this project she is also a Co-Investigator on the ‘Restoring Cultural Property and Communities after Conflict’ project, which examines the destruction of the Cham Islamic group’s cultural property during the Khmer Rouge regime.
