Professor Dagmar Schiek’s Inaugural Lecture – Divided Europe and the Law

Professor Dagmar Schiek delivered her inaugural lecture, ‘Divided Europe and the Law’ on Thursday March 21. Introductions were made by Head of the School of Law, Professor Robin Hickey, who gave an overview of Professor Schiek’s academic career and achievements, including her first visit to Queen’s University in 1999, before returning as a professor of law in 2014, and specializing in topics such as EU Legal Studies, Comparative, Labour and Equality Law.

The lecture provided an insight into the possible political and legal implications of Brexit and how the Europe would be impacted when the UK leaves the European Union. Professor Schiek has an extensive body of work focused on EU law and policy, that can be found on her profile on the School of Law website.
