Marek Martyniszyn joined the QUB School of Law as a Lecturer in 2013. Previously he was a Senior Research Fellow in the Institute for Consumer Antitrust Studies in the Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where he conducted research and taught a course in International and Comparative Competition Law. Marek completed his PhD at the University College Dublin (UCD). For the four-year studies he was awarded the prestigious Ad Astra Research Scholarship. At UCD he also tutored and lectured EU Constitutional and EU Economic Law. Marek holds an LLM degree from the European-Institute in Saarbruecken, which he completed with specializations in EU Law and WTO Law.
Marek works within the Law & Economics paradigm, focusing primarily on competition law and policy with special regard devoted to issues pertaining to transnational commerce. His research makes original contribution to the existing scholarship regarding extraterritoriality and related aspects of transnational litigation. It falls within the strand of research on the interface between national competition laws, international law, and regulation of world trade.
