Professor Tomoyuki Murakami visits QUB

Professor Tomoyuki Murakami from the Faculty of Science and Technology, SEIKEI UNIVERSITY, Tokyo, Japan spent the week of 29 February to 4 March as a visiting researcher at Queen's University Belfast.

He and Professor Bill Graham, from the Centre for Plasma Physics at Queen's, shared their expertise on the measurement and simulation of the unique physics and chemistry of near room temperature plasmas in air and liquids.  They both have an interest in seeing the environment created by this type of plasma exploited in highly topical applications, ranging from antimicrobial action to catalysis.

During his visit Prof Murakami lectured on his work, participated in a QUB workshop on this topic and worked alongside QUB researchers, building the basis for future in-depth collaboration.
