Further Reviewing Success for School Staff
Recognition for School researcher's reviews

Following hot on the heels of two IOP ‘Outstanding Reviewer’ awards another member of staff in the School has been singled out for recognition of his contribution to refereeing, this time by the prestigious AIP Physics of Plasmas Journal.
Dr Ioannis Kourakis (Centre for Plasma Physics) was one of only 11 referees chosen from over 1,400 for special recognition.
The editors of the journal, recognised as one of the world’s leading journals in the field, cited the 11 reviewers for offering “extraordinary service to the authors and readers of Physics of Plasmas by providing frequent, timely, and insightful reviews”
Moreover, this recognition comes on top of a certificate awarded to Dr Kourakis by the National Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), in appreciation of his dedication to the body as a member of the Physics Evaluation Group.
Prof Robert Bowman, Head of School, said “I am delighted that members of staff like Ioannis are being recognised for their excellence in reviewing. It can sometimes feel like a thankless task, but it plays a crucial role in making sure publications are kept to the highest possible standards”.
