Work Experience

26 July, 2021
Water skin image

Last month about 80 AS level school students participated in 'Experience Physics From Home' a #WorkExperience delivered remotely. The AS level students were given an insight into #physics at #Queen'sUniversityBelfast and what career options are open following a degree in physics. The #QUBSchooOfMathematicsAndPhysics provided PhD students to help deliver the day including experiments on surface tension. The image shows water on top of an upturned egg cup; the surface of the water is several millimetres above the rim. The water above the rim is held together by surface tension.  The reaction from the AS level students was very positive; they particularly enjoyed a Q&A session with the PhD students and hearing from recent graduates about their route into work.
