You have a personal duty and a legal responsibility to take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and of other persons who may be affected by your acts or your omissions.
The Teaching Support Office (LG.013) in the Old Physics Building and the School Office (0G.006) in the David Bates Building is usually staffed by trained first-aiders.
In the Old Physics Building first aid box is situated in Room LG.013
In the David Bates Building first aid boxes are situated in Rooms 0G.006, 0G.019 and 01.039.
Access to these can be granted through the Teaching Support Office in the Old Physics Building and the School Office in the David Bates Building. Students should also be aware of the location of the University Health Centre, 5 Lennoxvale (off Malone Road, just beyond Chlorine Gardens), which has fully trained nursing staff.
Any accident, no matter how small, must be reported to the lecturer or supervisor in charge as soon as possible. Accidents outside class in School buildings must also be reported as soon as possible to one of the Safety Officers or to the Teaching Support Office or School Office. Details of the accident must be entered in the Accident Reporting Book and a QUB accident report form filled in. Non-injury accidents that could have caused injury should also be entered in the Accident Reporting Book.
