The focus of my PhD project is to co-design and develop an electronic health (eHealth) intervention for families at high-risk of CVD (families with obese parents) to reduce their risk of the disease. The intervention will have a nutrition focus and help to increase knowledge and awareness of the disease and also ways of preventing the whole family from developing CVD.

I completed my undergraduate degree of Human Nutrition with a Diploma in Professional Practice (1st Class Honors) in 2018. During my undergraduate degree I completed a 1 year placement in the Food Safety Authority of Ireland in Dublin, where I was able to present and publish an abstract within the Proceedings of the Nutrition Society 2017, "Is it yogurt or is it a dessert?" This project helped me to recognise my interest and passion for nutrition research and encouraging consumers/the public to make healthier food choices, which led me to apply for a PhD at Queen’s around improving nutrition and reducing cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk in families.
