Feasibility of an eHealth, family-based, cardiovascular disease risk reduction programme: Health-e-Hearts

Research Focus

The focus of this research is to reduce cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk in families (parents and their children) through the use of an interactive online (eHealth) behaviour change intervention to improve nutrition, diet and lifestyle

Aim; Methods; Expected Outcomes

 

 

Aim:

To inform, develop and test the feasibility of an eHealth, family-based CVD risk reduction program – ‘Heath-e-Hearts’

Methods:

To conduct a systematic review of the facilitators and barriers of eHealth, family-based interventions
To co-design and develop Health-e-Hearts with obese families
To test and evaluate the feasibility of Health-e-Hearts

Expected Outcomes:

1. Feasibility of Health-e-Hearts

2. Determine effectiveness of Health-e-Hearts to reduce CVD risk and improve health behaviours of families for up to 6 months

3. Refine Health-e-Hearts for fully powered Randomised Control Trial
