Description of Project:

Aim; Methods; Expected Outcomes

The PASSION-HF consortium aims to develop an integrated e-Health product called “Abby” improving the self-care of patients with chronic heart failure, including self-prescription of medication. Abby will include novel features such as a decision support engine, interactive physician avatar interface, serious gaming tools and a self-learning feedback system.

The project will consist of three work packages, firstly though qualitative and quantitative data, patients with heart failure and their family members will provide their perspectives and preferences towards an eHealth product. The e=Health product named “Abby” will be designed, before clinical implementation and feasibility/safety testing of the product.

Outcomes:

  • One new transnational innovation network will be established..
  • By year 5, ‘Abby’ will support more than 20,000 patients to perform self-care in the North West Europe (NWE) area, with 70% treatment decisions
  • By year 10, anticipated the e-health product will support more than 225,000 patients in the NWE area and 80% treatment decisions will be supported by ‘Abby’.
