I am a lecturer (education) and pharmacist and teach in a number of modules of the MPharm programme, jointly coordinating two of the main pharmacy practice modules and being coordinator of another 4th year module. I am committed to delivering high quality teaching and, by using my IT expertise, creating systems of working that are efficient and reduce staff administration time. I am the examination officer for levels 3 and 4 of the MPharm degree and as the Level 4 Year Coordinator, regularly interact with students in the Staff-Student Consultative Committee. In addition, I contribute to postgraduate distance-learning programmes, supervising a number of MSc students each year.
I have published research on a wide range of topics, from assessment and feedback and student goal orientations, through to professionalism issues with students’ use of social networking sites, or their use of alcohol and tobacco. I have been a member of the SWAN SAT since 2013, and was involved in helping the School successfully achieve its Silver award by analysing data from research conducted with staff in the School and reviewing the proposed action plan in the application.
