34th Irish Conference of Medievalists
Queen’s University Belfast 24-26 June 2021
The Irish Conference of Medievalists (ICM) was established in 1987 and is one of the longest running conferences of its type. Since the beginning, the ICM has had the purpose of showcasing the latest research in both Irish and international medieval studies. The ICM welcomes speakers from Ireland and abroad on all aspects of the Middle Ages.
The ICM has a well-established tradition of moving venue every few years. To date, it has been convened in Maynooth, Kilkenny, Limerick, Galway, Cork and Dublin. The 2016 and 2017 conferences were hosted by Maynooth University in association with St Patrick’s College Maynooth and the 2018 and 2019 ICM conferences were hosted by University College Cork. The 34th conference in 2020 was to be held at Queen's University Belfast but was cancelled because of the Covid situation and the pandemic has conspired once again to render a face-to-face meeting unfeasible. However, we are aware that many younger researchers in particular are in need of sharing and discussing their research findings with other scholars and so the organizing committee has decided to organize ICM’s first ever online conference in 2021.
Papers are now invited for the online conference. Proposals should be sent to icm@qub.ac.uk no later than Friday 19 March.
