- 20+ years as a freelance journalist and documentary filmmaker
- Former Middle East foreign correspondent (based in Beirut, Lebanon). Clients included: TIME Magazine, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal The Los Angeles Times, The Guardian, Le Monde Diplomatique NPR, BBC, CBC, RTÉ, among others
