Mr Don Duncan

School of Arts, English and Languages

My research focus is both practice-based and theory-based. Generally, I'm interested in narrative and story as constructed in both factual and fictional forms, and in blends of these. Specific areas of interest include: memory, folklore, nostalgia, colonialism/post-colonialism, subaltern studies, multilingualism, the Irish language, the Middle East, the Francophone world. I’m drawn to how knowledge about these areas of interest can be deepened through the creation of media: audio, video, textual, animated and hybrid forms.
