Professor Peter Maxwell


Clinical and genetic epidemiology of chronic kidney disease with a particular focus on genetic predisposition to diabetic nephropathy and end-stage renal disease (requiring dialysis or renal transplantation).

Additional research interests in decision making and conservative care of end-stage renal disease (in conjunction with School of Nursing colleagues).

Intravenous fluid prescribing and simulation (in conjunction with Centre for Medical Education colleagues).
