This two day workshop will provide an opportunity to think about how we use psychological formulation both in individual practice and within teams.

Day 1 will focus on models of formulation as applied to individual practice. While there will be some emphasis on psychodynamic models, the aim will be to develop an integrative model or framework which could be applicable across settings.
Day 2 will focus on current issues and controversies in relation to formulation. There will be a particular emphasis on team formulation in terms of research, models and challenges. As well as referencing the current national DCP guidelines in relation to good practice, this session will also be influenced by group analytic and organizational theory.
Speakers
Dr Terri Gallagher is a clinical psychologist and group analyst who has worked in both the NHS and HSE. Terri has worked clinically in both child and adult mental health settings and with individuals, families and groups. Terri provides clinical supervision to clinical psychologists and psychotherapists and has facilitated reflective practice and supervision with teams and groups in both the NHS and HSE. Terri previously worked on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology course at Queens University Belfast and she continues to teach on this course as well as on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology course in NUIG.
