The School's SWAN Committee has been working hard on our renewal application, and we have just learned that we have again successfully received Gold certification from Athena SWAN.  We received our first Gold award in May 2014, being the first Psychology department in the UK to achieve this certification, and have successfully maintained this since.

Prof Teresa McCormack, Head of School, says:

"It is fantastic news that our Athena SWAN Gold award has been renewed.  To put this in context, of the 900+ UK academic departments that hold SWAN awards, only 19 are currently Gold and there is only one other Psychology department with Gold.

This is a testament to the hard work that the whole SWAN Committee have put in to not only the application but the many initiatives over the last 5 years that have been driven by SWAN."
