The School of Psychology welcomes Dr Tayler Truhan
Dr Tayler Truhan - Research Fellow

Tayler is currently working as a Research Fellow as part of the STARC and InteRRaCt Labs here at QUB, led by Professor Cherie Armour and Dr. Kostas Papageorgiou, respectively. Her research will focus on personality, parenting, and emotion regulation (how people stabilise, increase, or decrease their expression of emotion) in parents and adolescents, particularly after family conflicts. She completed her MSc in Psychology of Childhood Adversity at QUB in 2017. Earlier this year, she completed her PhD in Psychology here at QUB, supervised by Dr. Kostas Papageorgiou.
Prior to coming to QUB for her postgraduate studies, Tayler completed her BSc in Psychology at the University of Central Florda. Here, she worked as a research assistant in the UCF RESTORES lab, focusing on psychosocial adjustment among the families of deployed OEF/OIF service members. After graduation, she then worked as a postgraduate research assistant at the University of Miami Child Health lab on the longest run study on childhood development after cochlear implantation. These experiences sparked her interest in research on children and families, and led her to her studies and current work at QUB.
