The School of Psychology welcomes Elaine Lavery
Elaine Lavery - Placement and Employability Officer
Elaine graduated from the School of Psychology in 1998 and is returning as the Placement and Employability officer. She has worked for 20 years in the Charity sector in the area of vocational qualifications delivering training and assessment, developing relationships with community partners, organising employer-led workshops and managing student placement opportunities. Elaine also coordinated a widening access Level 4 Certificate course for Ulster University for 8 years, which had a large focus on work-based learning and was an important steppingstone for many non-traditional students to access a route into university. She worked on three Apprenticeship work-based learning programmes and was part of a team that was awarded an ‘Outstanding’ from the Education and Training Inspectorate for the delivery of the programme.
Elaine is looking forward to working with the students, alumni and partners of the School, and building on current employability initiatives to support students in the area of employability and career progression.
