Manuela Moser is back with us to talk through her approach as editor of the Friday Critique series. We'll discuss tone, structure and the aims of the series, and how to balance rigourous critical engagement with brevity in these short-form reviews. Manuela will be joined by reviewers and editors Elizabeth McIntosh, Rose Winter and Dara McWade. Dara will introduce the new film review series The Saturday Matinee.
All students are encouraged to participate in these review series'. Open to SHC students only.
Manuela Moser recently completed a PhD in Poetry, at Queen's University Belfast, and was the inaugural Publishing Fellow at the Seamus Heaney Centre, 2020-21. She is co-founder and editor of The Lifeboat reading series and Lifeboat Press, publishing award-winning pamphlets, and most recently the anthology 'Queering the Green: Post-2000 Queer Irish Poetry', edited by Paul Maddern.
Her poetry has appeared in The Stinging Fly, Poetry Ireland Review, Hotel, Copper Nickel, The Tangerine. She was awarded the Ireland Chair of Poetry Travel Award in 2020. Her pamphlet 'Last night, the mountain' was published by Bad Betty Press in December 2021. Manuela is currently a Co-director at Catalyst Arts Belfast.
