The Knowledge Exchange Seminar Series (KESS) at the Northern Ireland Assembly promotes evidence-led policy and law-making within Northern Ireland. The first of its kind in the UK, the seminar series formally partners a legislative arm of government – the Assembly - with academia. KESS provides a forum to present and disseminate academic research findings to participants and decision-makers in the policy and law-making processes, and to the wider public, and highlights the impact of research on policymaking.
On 15 June, Dr Caroline Linse (School of Education) will present her seminar Formal and informal translation and interpretation for immigrants and asylum seekers on research funded by the Northern Ireland Inclusion and Diversity Service, to determine the home-school connections of culturally and linguistically diverse families in Northern Ireland.
