Supervisory Excellence Award for SSESW academic

Head of the School of SSESW, Professor Carl Bagley, noted colleagues' delight that the hard work and dedication of SSESW Criminology lecturer Dr Michelle Butler was recognised with a Supervisory Excellence Award at the University’s recent awards ceremony. Michelle was joint winner of the Supervisory Excellence Award for the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. In nominating her for the award, Michelle’s students described her approach to PhD supervision as creating “a positive environment through insightful and constructive comments”, which “facilitates a reciprocal relationship founded on genuine rapport and mutual respect” and “inspires excellence by her detailed feedback, in-depth knowledge and the high quality of her own research”.
