A half-day walking tour on Saturday 30 September, 10.00 am to 1.00 pm

When we think of Belfast’s religious divide we tend to consider the differences between Protestant and Catholic. However, its early history is a story of tension between the established Anglican Church and an increasingly influential Presbyterianism.   This walking tour will chart this story by examining the history of Presbyterian worship since 1642 and its rise to prominence throughout the eighteenth century - a rise that helped to generate conflict with the Anglican Donegall family.  Meet at the First Presbyterian Church, Rosemary Street, opposite TK Max.
