Queen’s currently produces 28,430 tonnes of carbon emissions each year and has a utility bill of £6m.
1 tonne of CO2 weighs as much as 10 baby elephants or an adult giraffe, and would take up the same space as a 10m wide, 25m long and 2m deep swimming pool. So that means Queen’s is producing the equivalent weight of 284,300 baby elephants in carbon emissions each year.
