About Us

The 57th meeting of the Ecological Genetics Group will take place from April 2nd - 4th 2013 at Queen's University Belfast, and is being hosted and organised by Jim Provan and Gemma Beatty.

The conference will be held in the Council Chamber and the adjoining Canada Room, which are situated in the historic Lanyon Building.  There will be a full scientific and social programme throughout the three-day period of the conference, and the keynote speaker will be Prof Laurent Excoffier (University of Bern).  We hope to bring together those working in the fields of population genetics, ecology and evolution from across Europe and beyond.

Talks and posters are welcomed from all, and for those of you still completing your PhDs, remember that you will have the chance to win the coveted best talk/poster prizes!  The Ecological Genetics Group meetings have a long tradition of  being friendly and relaxed, where young researchers studying for their PhDs can mix with established academics (i.e. "Old Lags"), and the organizing team here in Belfast will ensure that this tradition is upheld.
