Leading local historian Guy Warner will give a lecture on Lilian Bland, a pioneer in aviation history. Hear more about this remarkable woman who, between 1909 and 1911, carried out her own aviation experiments in Carnmoney, resulting in her being the first woman in the world to design, build and fly her own aeroplane.

RAF 100 – Early operations in Ireland

To mark the centenary of the creation of the Royal Air Force in 1918, PRONI in conjunction with the NI War Memorial and the RAF are hosting a one day conference exploring a hundred years of the RAF in Northern Ireland on 25 April 2018 from 10.00 am until 3.30 pm.

Speakers will include amongst others: Guy Warner, Ernie Cromie, Dr Pat McCarthy, Joe Gleeson, Nina Hadaway, Nigel Henderson and representatives from the RAF.
