Gemma Cherry represented the Queen's Q-Step Centre at the recent Royal Statistical Society conference in Glasgow. Gemma was invited to participate at the conference as part of a panel focusing on the experiences of undergraduates that had participated in Q-Step placement schemes in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

"I really enjoyed being able to talk about my undergraduate Q-Step placement in the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs in front of an audience and having the opportunity to meet a range of experts in the field of quantitative social research"

Gemma, a graduate of the BA (Hons) Sociology programme, has continued her studies with the School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work and is now a PhD student researching in the area of education attainment (supported by the Administrative Data Research Centre NI).
