As an interdisciplinary forum for the publication of postgraduate research in the arts and social sciences, Quest is now seeking submissions for its sixth edition, to be published in Summer 2008.  The theme for this edition will be:

'Beyond Our Peers'

This special edition of Quest is focussed on the communication of disciplinary and interdisciplinary concepts beyond the academic context they inhabit. Quest believes that the value of any academic work or discipline is to be found, at least in part, in communicating to the wider intellectual community and to the wider society which we inhabit. This edition seeks to affirm this stance.

  • The Translation of [Inter] Disciplinary perspective to lay audiences.
  • The presentation of ‘academic’ concepts/ conceptualisations.
  • Popular Science, Social Science and Arts.
  • The philosophy Higher Education and its relationship with wider Society.
  • Academic Misappropriation and Mistranslation.

We particularly encourage participation in this issue from disciplines beyond the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences which are Quest’s usual focus.

Papers (both abstract and full text) should be no longer than 3000 words. Shorter articles are encouraged; longer articles are unlikely to be accepted. All proposals should be sent to by Monday the 2nd of May 2008.  Potential contributors should refer to our Submission Guidelines here. The editor can be contacted for advice at
