International Women's Day is celebrated on March 8. It is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity, and has been observed since in the early 1900's.
The Gender Initiative celebrates International Women's Day every year by holding a number of events, and publicising further events being run in the local community.
