With acessibility legislation teachers need to be aware of what is expected of them.  The following guides will help you identify what is expected of you and to give you some practical guidance.

Guides

  • Skill NI Briefing Papers - practical guidance on how to provide an inclusive service and accessible education to disabled people within the FHE sector
  • RSCni Practical Classroom Guide
  • TechDis - these materials explore the theme of accessibility in relation to simple 'home grown' e-learning, illustrating how simple techniques can greatly add to the learning experience of many learners.
  • TechDis Guides - useful information about how to use various items of assistive technology in an educational setting, or how to get the best out of commonly available software and hardware to provide an inclusive learning experience.
  • TechDis - Further Education Senior Managers Briefing Series.  The briefing packs covered provide support in the form of advice, guidance and practical resources to improve accessible teaching and learning practices.
