Queen's Lecturer wins two awards for her book on Late Medieval Ireland
Dr Sparky Booker, a lecturer in the School of History, Anthropology, Philosophy and Politics, has received two awards from the American Conference for Irish Studies (ACIS) for her book 'Cultural Exchange and Identity in Late Medieval Ireland'.

The American Conference for Irish Studies, founded in 1960, is a multidisciplinary scholarly organisation with membership numbering approximately 800 members from the USA, Canada, Ireland and other countries around the world.
Dr Booker's book won the Donald Murphy Prize for Distinguished First Books and the James S. Donnelly, Sr., Prize for Books on History and Social Sciences.
A review of Cultural Exchange and Identity in Late Medieval Ireland on the ACIS website describes Dr Booker's work as an "exceptional study, […] Lucidly written and exhaustively researched".
