BBC wants to boost representation of women experts appearing on the media

The BBC Academy in conjunction with BBC Northern Ireland wants to boost the representation of women experts appearing on the media. As part of this the Academy is holding a free introduction to the world of broadcasting to help recognised female experts feel comfortable appearing on television, radio and online as contributors or presenters.

This event will help boost the representation of women experts in the media. It follows the acclaimed Expert Women’s Day events held in London and Salford. The day will offer a range of practical media experience, including sessions on camera and in a radio studio, as well as masterclasses and networking with experienced programme makers and industry leaders.

Information Services Summer PC Refresh/Windows XP end of support
IS is currently in the middle of their summer PC refresh across their student computing centres. This year there will be a larger than usual number of PCs available for redistribution from this project due the refresh cycle. This is an opportunity for individual Schools to acquire PCs and also will help Schools with any issues that may arise from the Microsoft ending of support for Windows XP at the end of the first quarter 2014. Schools may have PC hardware that is not capable of running Windows 7 which will present an issue, if so this is a great opportunity to get Windows 7 compliant PCs from IS. If you want to avail of this opportunity then please contact:
