Cycle challenge

Queen’s in partnership with Travelwise NI is organising a Cycle Challenge which will run over three weeks from 5 June to 25 June.

Staff are encouraged to form teams and to log each cycling journey undertaken over the three week period. Teams must consist of 3 - 6 people and every team must have a 'new' cyclist.  Points will be awarded for each journey over 10 minutes.

There will be a number of prizes on offer.  Prizes are available on a national and local level and teams within the University will be competing for cycling vouchers from local retailers.

Students' Union shop account card

The Students' Union shop is offering an account card to all University Schools and Departments for exclusive use in the SU shop. The card can be used at any time throughout the year to purchase all goods and services within the shop.
 
The shop can supply items for goodie bags, packed lunches, special requests, bulk stationery orders and has a range of items featuring the Queen's logo, from stationery to hoodies, and a Fairtrade range.

Life and Times results: 4 June

The seminar Autism Awareness and Attitudes on Tuesday 4 June will mark the release of the results of the 2012 Northern Ireland Life and Times (NILT) Survey.

Karola Dillenburger, Julie-Ann Jordan and Lynne McKerr, School of Education, will use 2012 NILT data to explore knowledge and public attitudes to the social, employment, educational and housing issues facing people with autism, as well as highlighting personal experiences.

The seminar will take place on Tuesday 4 June, at 11.30am, followed by a light lunch, and will be held in the Canada Room, Lanyon Building. Everyone is welcome to the free event, however, places need to be booked by Tuesday 28 May, by contacting 028 7167 5513, info@ark.ac.uk.

The 2012 NILT Survey explored attitudes to key social issues, including autism, community relations, minority ethnic groups, migrant workers and asylum seekers, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues, and political attitudes.  Full results will be available on Tuesday 4 June at www.ark.ac.uk/nilt
