
Each award has specific criteria which the judges use to shortlist the nominations.
Category 1: Delivering Excellence
This award recognises an individual who has gone above and beyond, consistently delivering excellence and taking pride in what they do.
We are looking for examples of when a member of staff has gone above and beyond and for whom this excellent behaviour is second nature. This could be anything from providing outstanding support to students to delivering in challenging circumstances.
Prize
£1,000 will be awarded to the winning individual.

Entry Criteria
Award entries should relate to work undertaken in the period between 1 August 2019 and 31 July 2020.
The Judging Panel will be looking for details of how this individual has gone the extra mile, any challenges they have overcome and the impact they have made.
Category 2: Community Impact
This award recognises the significant contribution our staff make to the local community and wider society.
We are looking for a project, activity or individual who has made a significant impact on communities here in Northern Ireland or further afield. This could be anything from volunteering and community engagement to education and research activity.
This award is open to individuals or teams.
Core Value
This award relates to our CONNECTED Value
Prize
£1,000 will be awarded to the winning individual. If the award is won by a team, £1,000 is available to each member. The prize money is capped at £5,000.

The Judging Panel will be looking for details of the project/activity and information about the impact it has made on communities.
This award is open to individuals or teams.
Category 3: Innovation
This award recognises an individual or team who has developed an innovative idea that has benefitted a particular department, the University or wider society.
We are looking for an individual or team who has made a difference by coming up with a new idea, new systems or new ways of working. This could be anything from making a suggestion for a new process or a different way of working in your area to developing a new initiative, product or commercial idea.

Prize
£1,000 will be awarded to the winning individual. If the award is won by a team, £1,000 is available to each member. The prize money is capped at £5,000.

This award is open to individuals or teams.
Category 4: Team of the Year
This award is all about collaboration and recognises a group of individuals who, by working together, have made a significant and positive impact.
This can be an established work team or individuals who have come together for a specific project or initiative.
If you have collaborated with partners outside Queen's for a particular project, they can be included in the nomination, however, please note that only Queen's staff members can be named as winners and awarded prize money.

Award entries should relate to work undertaken in the period between 1 August 2019 and 31 July 2020.
The Judging Panel will be looking for details of the members of the team, how they worked together, what makes the team special and what impact have they made.
Category 5: Outstanding Leadership
This award recognises an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership during the academic year.
This is not necessarily someone in a leadership position, but anyone who has demonstrated leadership, whether that be taking the lead in a specific project or initiative or by responding to change. We are looking for someone who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in line with any of the key areas of leadership activity and the associated positive behaviours from our Leadership & Management Framework:

- Collaborative Leadership
- Managing
- Providing Direction
- Vision Leadership
Core Value
This award relates to our INTEGRITY and RESPECT Values
Prize
£1,000 will be awarded to the winning individual.
Entry Criteria
Award entries should relate to work undertaken in the period between 1 August 2019 and 31 July 2020.
The Judging Panel will be looking for details of how the nominee has demonstrated leadership behaviour, the difference they have made and how they inspired and motivated others.
Category 6: Lifetime Achievement
This award recognises and celebrates the contribution made by a long-serving member of staff to the University.
Nominees should have 15 years' service or more.
Core Value
This award relates to all our five Core Values: INTEGRITY,CONNECTED, AMBITION, RESPECT and EXCELLENCE.
Prize
£1,000 will be awarded to the winning individual.
Entry Criteria
The Judging Panel will be looking for details of the significant and sustained contribution the individual has made to the University and the positive impact they have made.
Nominees should have 15 years' service or more.
