CONFERENCE UPDATE The international conference held on the topic of War and Memory in Warsaw on 7-9 September 2012 and co-organised by Queen’s War and Memory Research Group together with the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw was highly successful. A hundred participants attended a full programme of papers that ranged from topics in Sociology, Politics, and Anthropology to Literature and Culture. The conference was blessed with excellent weather, and the visits to the Warsaw Museum of the Uprising together with the visit to the site of Palmiry in the Kampinoska Forest just outside Warsaw were appreciated by all. We have received many emails of congratulation and thanks for the excellent organisation and the rich variety of papers given at the conference. We are now receiving submissions based on the papers given at the conference in preparation of a publication by Cambridge Scholars Publishing (for the literary and cultural articles, with myself as editor, aided by Dr Dominique Jeannerod and Dr Manuel Bragança) and Peter Lang (for the sociological and political articles, with Professor Jozef Niznik of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw, as editor) and we are currently working on the compilation and editing of these articles. It is worth mentioning in this context another planned publication - the edited volume of articles that Dr Manuel Bragança and Dr Peter Tame are preparing for a publication with Berghahn for 2014. We are delighted that we have so far received many high-quality submissions for this publication and would like to thank all those who sent us articles. 24.10.2012
