About Us

The conference will be held in the Council Chamber and the adjoining Canada Room, which are situated in the historic Lanyon Building. There will be a full scientific and social programme throughout the two-day conference.

We hope to bring together those working in the fields of agriculture, ecology and policy from across Europe and beyond. We welcome delegates that work in the civil service and industry, as well as university researchers.

Talks and posters are welcomed from all. Remember those of you still completing your PhDs will have the chance to win the coveted best talk/poster prizes!

Background to the Agricultural Ecology Special Interest Group

The Agricultural Ecology Group aims to bridge the gap between ecologists working in agricultural systems, conservationists with an interest in agricultural systems, crop, grassland and forest scientists working on increasing economic production, weed scientists, and agricultural policy makers.

It will integrate very different approaches (ecology, economic production, conservation) to agricultural systems to address common issues. Finally, it will enhance communication among scientists and others working on agricultural systems using meetings, workshops, BES Bulletin reports and an email forum.
