Software-enhanced Fast Temperature Measurement



  • Accurate instantaneous measurement of dynamic temperature variations is a challenging problem.
  • The harsh environment in automotive exhaust systems for example requires robust and therefore low-bandwidth thermocouples, which  are incapable of capturing rapid  temperature fluctuations.
  • To recover high frequency components, the original temperature must therefore be reconstructed.
Sensor Characterisation
  • Characterisation of a twin-thermocouple probe is achieved using  system identification techniques.
  • Variable velocity is accommodated using polynomial parameter fitting on a sliding data window.
