BMC Automotive Academy


BMC Automotive Academy is Belfast Metropolitan College’s flagship Motor Vehicle Training centre.  The Academy was opened just two years ago and is based in the automotive hub of Mallusk. Although primarily a training centre, the Automotive Academy and its facilities are also available to commercial businesses. To date we have worked with many companies such as Mercedes, Mitsubishi, Donnellys, Wrightbus to name just a few.

Consultancy Services

Staff can provide experience and knowledge within the sector and specialist areas include all aspects of light vehicles, automotive diagnostics and heavy vehicles.

Current Initiatives and Projects

The Automotive Academy is currently working on projects with Bosch, Wabco and Mercedes.

Our Dynamometer has the greatest capacity in Northern Ireland and is used widely within Industry. All of our facilities are in great demand as we are able to offer the local automotive a unique “one stop shop”.

The college also has a range of specialist units offered allows you to focus on or explore new areas, such as engineering design, petrol injection systems for spark ignition engines or professional practice and logistics for motorsports.

Our automotive academy can also provide assistance relating to Vehicle Technology, Electrical Science, Vehicle Electrical Technology and Electronics and Microprocessor Applications in Vehicles.

ktp Knowledge Transfer Partnerships are based on partnerships between academic groups and companies who need access to skills and knowledge in order to innovate. The academic and industrial partners jointly devise and manage a two or three year programme to achieve the advances the company needs. This programme of work is carried out in the company by a KTP Associate and the resulting relationship can be very challenging and rewarding to all parties
4k-vouchers Innovation Vouchers are designed to enable small Northern Ireland enterprises to access knowledge and expertise to develop innovative solutions to business issues. The programme provides a voucher of up to £4000 to enable small enterprises to engage with one of the 41 universities, colleges and other publicly funded research organisations throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland
