Belfast Metropolitan College has the renewable resources to support you and your business. We have the technical expertise and facilities to meet the skill needs of your existing workforce and help your business to meet the environmental challenges and optimize the opportunities. 

Belfast Met currently have considerable renewable facilities at our Millfield Campus and in March 2012, we will be opening our new £15m economic development project called e3 (enterprise, entrepreneurship and employability) located on the Springfield Road. This state of the art breeam excellent standard training facility will provide support to the renewable & sustainability industry. The facility with have fully integrated wind turbines, air source heat pumps and bio mass boilers with the capacity for students to monitor and measure performance. The facility will also include research and development in the innovative use of new and emerging technologies with resources for the testing and demonstration of renewable energies.  In order for a skilled, mobile and adaptable workforce to be available to serve the growing renewable energy sector in the coming years, the college’s curriculum has adjusted to cope with this demand.

We have access to a range of potential funding mechanisms to support your business collaborate with this project including

ktp Knowledge Transfer Partnerships are based on partnerships between academic groups and companies who need access to skills and knowledge in order to innovate. The academic and industrial partners jointly devise and manage a two or three year programme to achieve the advances the company needs. This programme of work is carried out in the company by a KTP Associate and the resulting relationship can be very challenging and rewarding to all parties
4k-vouchers Innovation Vouchers are designed to enable small Northern Ireland enterprises to access knowledge and expertise to develop innovative solutions to business issues. The programme provides a voucher of up to £4000 to enable small enterprises to engage with one of the 41 universities, colleges and other publicly funded research organisations throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland
